How Affirmations Filled their Gas Tank

Muriel and I were heading to Bellingham WA on a secondary road, one snowy evening when we heard a "Chug, chug," and then the car stopped.

"Oh dear," said Muriel, "I am out of gas." "Out of gas." I exclaimed. It was 4:30 p.m. and it was cold and snowing.

We were stranded on one of the worst parts of the road; just around the bend and we had no room to pull off the road properly. I got out and tried to walk in the snow to a farmhouse-the lights were on but no one was home.

I tried to flag down some passing motorists but they thought I was just being friendly and waved back at me.

I got back into the car and I was beginning to get really scared. The trucks that flew by rocked the car. So there we sat. Then we did an Affirmation that the perfect person(s) would stop and help us. We did not have a cell phone and could not see any other houses. It was getting darker and darker and colder and colder. As I kept looking in the rear view mirror, I winced every time I saw a large tuck approaching us. Would he or she see us in time?

So we kept on affirming–Quite desperately now. Then a couple in a truck stopped. The man came out and asked what was wrong and we told him that we were out of gas. He said, "Just sit tight as we will be right back with some gas." His lady companion did not appear to be happy about this arrangement.

As we sat in that cold car, freezing, doubt began to creep in. Would he really come back? Did he just say that? Will we ever get out of here?

Sure enough twenty minutes later, he came back with a can of gasoline. When I asked him how much we owed him he said, "Absolutely nothing, just do the same for another person some day."

We both said thank you, thank you, thank you to him and the Universe for the manifestation of our Affirmation and we learned the danger of not taking time to put gas in your vehicle.

Just as we put gas in our vehicles, we put positive thoughts, (spiritual food) into our bodies daily. Now we both do our Affirmation whether we are out of gas or not. As told by Becky

Marnie wanted to help her adult son, Peter find the perfect wife for him. He was becoming depressed and very touchy when the subject of him getting married came up. He said things like, “Poor me, I will always be alone—no woman wants me. I am not good looking enough—see all the hair I have lost and other derogatory statements about himself and his ability to have a lasting, loving relationship/marriage.

Marnie cut out personal ads, searched the Internet trying to help him in his search. She put ads in the Personal Column in the newspaper and even went along on a first meeting with one of the girls and that proved disastrous.

She was desperate. Then an idea stuck her. She wrote to the Angel of her unknown daughter-in-law. She sent her love and thanked her for appearing in her son’s life now.

She also told Peter to do an affirmation himself and to be open and willing to meet new people.

One day when Peter was parking his car in the underground parking lot in his building, he noticed a girl getting out of her car. They started talking and it turned out that she lived in the apartment directly above his. They dated and now have been married for two years.

Note: While I don’t recommend doing as Marnie did, Mothers, you may wish to write an Angel letter (described in my Affirmation books).

Ron unstuck His Career with the Power of Affirmations

Ron was unhappy with his present position. He felt trapped, stuck not making enough money and that he was not utilizing his creative abilities. When his girlfriend Lori told him about the power of Affirmations, he turned his nose up at the whole concept. Then he watched a show on TV that talked about changing attitudes can create miracles. He then started his own form of affirmations. He created an Affirmation on the computer screen, which popped up constantly. It read, "I Ron now have a lucrative and interesting career."

Ron did not realize it but every time he read those words, they made a powerful impact on his subconscious mind.

One day over lunch his friend causally mentioned a prestigious firm that was hiring. Ron made a mental note of it and then followed it up. He secured an interview. He was a little nervous but he kept repeating to himself those words, “I now have a lucrative, interesting career,” over and over. Soon he said all he had to do was start saying, “I now have….” and his subconscious mind filled in the blanks.

He went to the interview and the management was so impressed with him that they scheduled a final interview and he got the position. Now he said, “ I have that lucrative, interesting career.” He also gave thanks to the Universe for his completed request. He had these words engraved on a plaque that hangs in his new office. He says that Lori was right all along and gave him the gift of learning--to discover a new tool (the use of affirmations). These days he is proud to talk about affirmations and the power of positive thinking and encourages others to do the same.

Words are powerful. They are creative. Never underestimate the power they have.

This is the first time I have ever written a letter to an author. I want to tell you that the real catalyst for growth over the past seven months has been my connection to you, your book and your teachings. It was my purchase of your book that really cemented my foundation for a wonderful life. I have read other books on affirmations over the years, but never have I found a book as magical as yours. Both my career and my home life have been extremely challenging over the past eight months. Ther have been numerous occasions where I have felt totally overwhelmed and I was continually struggling to find a solution. Many times I felt that there was no solution and I had no control over the situation.

After reading the affirmation and the recommended process for making this affirmation work, I decided I had nothing to lose. I wrote the affirmation (Angel letter), fifteen times as you recommended, then folded one of the fifteen affirmations so that the words faced outward. I placed this affirmation in my wallet. I took the remaining fourteen to the fireplace. As I burned them, I thought about my Angel connecting with the other person's Angel. I I turned the whole situation over to the universe.

Within three days, the solution came. Since that day, I have not looked back. I no longer feel the anxiety or the level of stress that has consumed me for so long.

I truly believe that, in order for an affirmation to work, one has to have a need. The Higher Power cannot be fooled. The Universe will not supply through affirmations to fulfil greed. Affirmations are to connect needs with solutions, for the good of all parties concerned.
